This is the first book in the Baton Rouge Bachelors Duet. It is also the story of Cain and Makaylie. Cain is the second in command in the Baton Rouge Bachelors Society. He keeps all that they do running like a well oiled machine even if he has to do it by brute force. The man is always in control. That is until he meets Makaylie who is a writer who has complete faith and trust in him. However that is a big problem. She shouldn’t trust him. He is convinced that he is really bad for her. To say he is like a moth to a flame when it comes to her is an understatement. He is certainly doing battle with the two sides of himself. He is ruthless and has this super dark side and on the other side of the coin he is really sweet and romantic. But at the same time he knows that he is dangerous to her. Makaylie though is positive that she is falling in love with Cain. He is exactly what she needs when his dominant side comes out to play. However his mood and his on and off switch where he is in a good mood one second and in a totally different one the next is really starting to drive her crazy. They certainly have obstacles in their way. Will they be able to find a way to overcome everything and be the couple they have the potential to be? Well, I can’t tell you because I don’t really know. This is the first book in a duet after all. I cannot wait to have the next book in my hands and find out what happens. I really loved reading this book and you will too.
