Jake and Harper have a past that includes each other and while she says she has gotten over it and has moved on, they both are really holding on to those feelings but trying their best to ignore them. It’s been six years after all. He broke her heart back then but she can’t fault him for that when he got a daughter out of everything that happens. To him though, she is the one that got away. It sure is not easy for them to avoid each other though since they live in a small time and you can literally feel the pull they have toward the other when they are around each other. Jake is a grump a big old grump. He is possessive and has a dirty mouth which I really am a sucker for and feel like the world needs more of. However he has this really sweet side that is reserved for Harper and his daughter only. Sydney is going to steal your heart too and Harper is really good with her. They really have this special bond and it is just great to get to witness. Harper is probably one of the most honest characters you will read about and she was that way weather she was with Jake or Harper. There second chance is certainly coming but will they both be willing to leave the past in the past and reach out and grab something that could be absolutely amazing for not only them but for Syd as well? You have to read to find out. But this book really pulls at your heartstrings and will have you swooning so many times. I really loved reading it and know it is a book I will reread again.
