I received an ARC of this book from the publisher for an honest review.

Let me begin by saying this in an AWESOME story.  Ms. James does not disappoint.  I had a book hanger for weeks!  Not days, WEEKS people!  I can’t wait to see what else comes in this series.

So the basics are Amery decides to go with a co-worker to a self defense class after the friend was going to take last minute.  So she wasn’t dressed properly and hadn’t prepared to participate.  They allowed her to sign up late for the class and take part in the first class without wearing the required clothing.  Ronin Black, dojo owner, makes his appearance known and questions why Amery isn’t in the right uniform.  Something he wouldn’t usually bother himself with as he has “people” to do that for him.

The connection these two share is lightening quick and sparks bright.  Ronin starts training Amery one on one in the class as there’s an odd number of students.  Something else he doesn’t normally do.  He wants more of Amery’s time and hires her to do some design work for the dojo.  There’s other things he wants from her but there’s big things he’s hiding.

Amery can’t figure out what it is that Ronin’s hiding from her.  Sooner than later though she finds out his BIG secret.  It’s a make or break secret to their relationship.  It’s fabulous to “see” all of this play out.  The writing is so easy to visualize you can “see” each emotion as well as feel it.  I love this book.  I give it 5+++ stars!
