The Pope is in the multi author collection of stories in the Cards Of Love. This is a dark book and man oh man is it ever so good. I devoured this book in a day and I hated to see it end. I am just not sure how to write this review and not give something away that doesn’t need to be given away. I love unfolding a book without knowing much about what it is about or what is coming my way. I am a huge dark book loving reader and this one hits the spot. This is the story of a Catholic priest Father Kavanagh and Delilah. Delilah is a college student who lives with her three best friends. She has always been attracted to the bad boys and just loves to upset her father. This though leads to her getting cut off and a night in which she meets the next bad boy, drug dealing, boyfriend. Events happen and Delilah is lost and looking to repent and pay for these events. However Nate the drug dealing boyfriend won’t let her go to the police and basically threatens her life to keep her from doing do which ends up in a downhill side to rock bottom for Delilah. Until she walks into a church and into a confessional and right into the life of Father Kavanagh. He is not who he seems to be and is keeping his real identity a secret from the world. And that is about all I am going to tell you because it gets kind of crazy and heart racing and edge of your seat sitting at many points. I loved every single second of this book. I loved Judas and Delilah. I am so hoping that we at some point will get Saint’s story and get to see more of Judas and Delilah. I would give this book more than five stars if I could. For the size of the book L.P. Lovell packs the book with so much that it feels like a full size novel. One that you don’t want to end.
