Coach Everett Long has a chip on his shoulder. Working every day with the man who stole his fiancee leave him pissed and on edge. His temper is volatile and his attitude sucks. River Banks is a funky-styled runner with a bizarre past. Starting over at a new school was supposed to be easy…but she should have known better. She likes to antagonize and tends to go after what she’s not supposed to have. When the arrogant bully meets the strong-willed brat, it sparks an illicit attraction. Together, they heat up the track with longing and desire. Everything about their chemistry is wrong. So shy does it feel so right? She’s a hurdle in his way and, dear God does he want to jump her. Will she be worth the risk or will he fall flat on his face?

Welcome to another taboo treat from K Webster. If you have read Renner’s Rule, then you met Coach Long in that book. I am so glad that we got his story. I love all these little treats that K. Webster gives to us as readers. Coach Long is a grouch, to say the least. He was engaged and is now working with the man that she cheated with. And he hates him. He hates the world really. Or so it seems. On peek at this new student River Banks and he is a goner. He knows that he shouldn’t want her. After all he is a lot older and her teacher and track coach. River though feels the same way. She however gives just as good as she gets when Coach Long is being a butt to her. To make matters worse he is also her AP Math teacher. Can these two find a way to be together and will they be able to make a go of it? I loved both these characters. Coach Long is not what he seems when you first meet him and poor River has parents that could care less what she does and more about making a name for themselves. If you love taboo quick reads then you do not want to miss Coach Long or any of the other taboo books that K. Webster has written.
