I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is the first book in The Cruel Secrets Duet. It is also a dark mafia/secret society college bully romance. Since this is a dark romance you will want to heed the warning in the beginning of the book if you have triggers that might be in this book.
I love when we get to read about a secret society in books. This one is filled with secrets and lies and some betrayal. Caspian and Willow are two character that live such lives in this secret society that you don’t really know what is real and what is the part they are playing in the secret society. However when Willow holds on to a secret that comes out and implodes both her and Caspian’s family she finds that her best friend is now her biggest enemy. However when they both bump into each other at Raventhorn University Willow decides to stay as far away from him and humanly possible. What she doesn’t know that is somewhere along the way she has become Caspian’s obsession and the next thing she knows they are going to be married. However, everything can never be that simple and Willow is in serious danger as someone wants her dead. I dove into this book head first as soon as I got it and I didn’t lay it down until I was finished. I loved it so much and I really loved Willow and Caspian. These two have some serious fire between them. But I have a lot of questions and I knew that I would probably close the book feeling that way. To say I need the second book in this duet is a real understatement.
