Here’s an account of a day in the life of a book blogger. Yesterday I had the privilege of doing a two and a half minute TV segment with New York Times Bestselling Authors Tabatha Vargo and Melissa Andrea. They are both signing authors at the book signing we host called, Authors in the City. It will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC on March 14, 2015. I will give you more info on that later in this post.
It’s not every day I get to be in presence of such greatness. These two authors write individually as well as co-write together. They are both down to earth and so funny.
Here’s a photo of us on TV!

They were awesome on the show as I was a mess. I was tripping over my sentences and Melissa had to complete them for me more than once. I am not usually that flustered, but we only had a short window of time and trying to get my brain to slow down long enough to get out everything I was thinking but in a condensed version was hard!
The show anchors, Cecil & Amanda, were very gracious and they even showcased the books Melissa and Tabatha co-wrote together. The Wrath of Sin, Little Black Book, and The Procedure.
After the show was over and gifts were bestowed on the show hosts, we headed to lunch. OH…but first let me show you – to document our time at the station we posed in front of one of their cars.
It was cold and windy, but we braved it long enough to pose and then hop in our cars. I was thrilled to be able to hang out with these ladies for another hour – or two.
Author Dawn Pendleton joined us at Chili’s in Myrtle Beach for lunch!
Peek-a-boo Dawn!
We had a fantastic time. I swear I haven’t laughed so hard and long in a while. We talked about all kinds of stories we’ve read and their careers.
These women are very down to earth and they care about their readers. Why am I sharing all this with you? Well, it’s not every day a reader gets to spend a few hours by themselves with great authors such as these. You could just pinch yourself! Seriously. They are just like me, in the fact they put their pants on the same way I do…and they don’t have the “I’m better than you because I have a title by my name” attitude. Such sweet women and I’m honored to have been allowed in their bubble for a few hours.
You can spend some time with Tabatha and Melissa at Authors in the City. The tickets for the whole day’s events are on sale through Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015. Signing Only tickets will be available online through the week prior to the event and at the door.
I hope you can join us, because we have 68 more awesome authors signing as well.
I ended my day yesterday with the That’s Novel Internet Radio show I do each Wednesday from 8-10 PM EST interviewing Author Claire Contreras. She just made NY Times and USA Today Bestselling lists yesterday, for her newest release, Kaleidoscope Hearts. It was a great celebration. You can listen to her show in the archives on the linked show address. She’s super sweet and has been through so much in the past year. Yesterday was an awesome accomplishment for her and really a highlight for all she’s endured this past year.
This kind of day is not normal for me. I’m usually hanging out with my kids, working on the site, posting things around on the pages, groups, and working on the signing. A lot of what I do is behind the scenes and it was great to get out and show others how great these authors are and hopefully you will too!
