Now though that they are grown, they have escaped the miserable existence they were living and Jimmy did everything in his power to help Lilah clean up her act. The girl certainly has a problem and Jimmy is trying his best to show her that they can be so much more than a product of the horrible life they had before they were able to get out of it. Told over several years of their life it is the story of two very damaged souls who handle the emotional turmoil they felt in two different ways. Lilah chose to the path of drugs and alcohol and Jimmy did his very best to get her to stop. Told in two different parts of this book equal parts tragic and then healing.
