Becca Scott has been struggling to regain control over her life for years. She is finally at a good place. When her best friend asks her to spend a few days at her family’s lake house with her, she figures why not? She has no idea that a chance meeting will forever change her life.
Aiden Reynolds hates himself and his life. He tries to drown his guilt/grief with booze, but it never works. When he catches a glimpse of a beautiful red head riding a jet ski on the lake, he is instantly drawn to her. There is just one problem-he is stuck in a relationship with a woman he hates, and he doesn’t know how to get away from her.
As Aiden and Becca begin to spend more and more time together, it doesn’t take long for them to fall in love. However, they each have demons from their pasts that they must face and conquer if they want the relationship that they are building to last. Will they find the courage to deal with their issues, or will it all be too overwhelming?
This book as a little bit of everything-danger, lies, betrayal, attempted murder, etc. It is a story that will surely keep you glued to the edge of your seat. This book is the first book in this series and does contain a hea. Kudos to Carrillo for creating such a great series!!

5 stars for Destroy Me by K.D. Carrillo! This is the second book in the Destroy series, and it focuses on the relationship between Reed and Kate.
Reed Martin is the definition of a hero. He has served his country in the military, and now he serves his community as a police officer. Like so many, his service came with great personal sacrifice. Even thought he enjoys being a cop, he feels like he is just aimlessly wandering through life. This all changes when he meets Kate Kennedy.
On the surface, Kate Kennedy appears to have it all together, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. After chasing her for over a year with no luck, Reed decides to move on. He soon realizes that he can’t move on because somewhere along the way he fell in love with her. When he discovers that she is is danger, his protective instincts go into high gear. When Kate finally opens up to him about her past, this knowledge just makes him more determined to keep her safe, but will that even be possible when danger is coming at them from all directions?
This is another great book by Carrillo! This story line will take you on one heck of a thrill ride! It is packed full of danger and suspense. I love all of the characters in this series! They are a group of friends who have come together to make a family. I look forward to reading any future books in this series because I am very curious to read the stories of the supporting characters!

I live books. Love isn’t a strong enough word. I think my first crush was on a Hardy Boy. Now I’ve moved on to rock stars and tattooed bad boys, as long as they’re fictional.
