This is the story of Alistair and Eloise. You might as well get comfortable and have everything you need beside you before you pick up this book. I don’t think I moved much at all once I started this book. Alistair is a really successful lawyer in one of the biggest law firms in New York City. He is also a man who likes the darker side of life. The man has never been afraid to take a risk in his life. Consequences be darned is the attitude he has. However he has the possessive and protective side to him that are just over the top as his darker tastes. Eloise is a French Mafia Princess who is married to the very definition of a psychopath. The poor girl didn’t even get a good looking one either. He is a horrible human that you’re going to hate right off the bat. In college she and Alistair became serious enemies. There are secrets on top of misunderstandings on top of miscommunications Ten years is a long time to hate someone and being back in NYC she not only crosses paths with Alistair but begins to work at his firm. He is her boss. What could possibly go wrong?
I was hooked on this book from the beginning. I loved these characters and the story they had to tell. I don’t want you to read what I wrote and not give this book a chance by thinking there is cheating going on. There is not. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and the twist and turns will have you hooked and guessing a lot. I loved that this book was told in the past and the present so you get the backstory live and in living color. Do not miss this book or you are missing something great.
