Dreams of the Deadly by Adelaide Forrest Release and Review

Dreams of the Deadly is the first book in the Massacred Dreams Series. This is a dark mafia romance and will contain triggers for some readers. You need to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book.
This is the story of Calix and Thalia. There is a prologue to this book, Dreams of the Vengeful. If you have not read that though, Adelaide Forrest has put that in the beginning of this book. If you have read it you can skip it and start with the chapter that stated in the book. I loved that we got to see Thalia as a girl and Calix as a young man even if she was six when he left and she thought that he would never leave her. After all he is the young boy who bought her a flower and chocolates and he even came to her school and made the girls being mean to her stop. He was he first and only friend and he knows what she lives in and he would never leave her. But she doesn’t know everything that happened to him or why he was gone and where he was. Thalia has not had a great life at all and oh my gosh to say he father is a horrible person is a understatement. He is beating her into the daughter he wants her to be for the world they live in. I was so mad sometimes and things only got worse when her mom wasn’t there anymore. I was fuming and my heart broke for her but I could see her learning the things that would help her survive the life she is in and her step mother was just as horrible as he dad. Calix has been banished and has never not one time forgotten the girl with girl and he knows he will get his revenge for he and for him and when the time comes he will be ready to take over his dads place on the council and Thalia will be at his side. I don’t wanna go into more than that. You need to let it all be a surprise. You need to experience the things that these two characters go through and to understand the dynamic of everything going on. This book will be one that will grab your attention and hold it the entire time. Rooting for both the characters and fall in love with them at the same time. Thalia is precious but strong. So strong. She is like a warrior born out of the ashes that are her life. And the things she lived through just really made me want to go pluck he out of the book and put her in a world where she would have peace and anything else she might desire. Calix is an alpha male who likes dominance but man does this guy have a heart of gold where Thalia is concerned. He really keeps his word to her and he treats he like a queen. Heck the man would do anything for her and her never have to life a finger in her life. He is one a mission and I feel sorry for anyone who gets in his way! I have to shut up. I really loved this story the characters and it just kept me so engrossed I didn’t want it to end. I can not wait to see what the next book holds.
