Checkmate: This is Effortless is not a stand alone book. You need to read Checkmate: This is Reckless first. This book does pick up right where Checkmate: This Is Reckless ended. When we last saw Drew and Courtney, Courtney was not the one who Drew woke up to in his bed. But Mia was. Grrr…can I just say that Mia is a straight up psycho. She did however make this book very interesting. A lot of things happen and change for Courtney and Drew. Drew experiences a life altering call, and Courtney is afraid of her own shadow. I fell so in love with these two in Checkmate: This is Reckless so I hated to see them have to go through everything they do go through. We also get to see the characters from the first duet of book and there is some surprising news for Drew’s sister. Can I just say that these two crack me up too. Buckle up though your in for one wild ride with this book. Kennedy Fox has done another amazing job with yet another amazing duet. I can not wait to see what they do next. |

I am a huge fan of friends to lovers romance, and after the way This is Reckless ended, I have been dying to get my hands on this book. This is the continuation of Drew and Courtney’s story, and it is just fabulous! Drew and Courtney are the perfect couple. Their relationship is filled with passion, and the chemistry that exists between them is undeniable. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? Unfortunately it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Drew’s past continues to come back to haunt not only him but Courtney as well. All I can say is hang on for the crazy ride ahead!
I just love Kennedy Fox! Her writing is flawless. She is an expert at creating stories that will draw you in until the outside world just fades away. If you are looking for the perfect book/series, look no further! Kennedy Fox, you rock!!
