The sins of the father become those of the son.
Wrath for taking what was precious to me.
Greed for the lives that were mine to kill.
Sloth for the destruction against their will.
Lust for revenge and the blood I’d spill. Gluttony for the souls I craved.
Envy for the spirits I had yet to take.
Pride for the birthright I’d soon fulfill.
One look. One moment. One girl. She was all it took for me to lose my focus. Sienna Luciano, my eighth deadly sin. It was the end of me, but not my legacy. It was only the beginning of ….El Diablo’s resurrection. I’m Crucifixio Martinez.
I am so happy, like really really excited and giddy and just all over the place with the happy feels that we got another book in the El Diablo world that was introduced in the original El Diablo. In this second book we meet Cruz who is the son of Martinez and who has gown up with this family but never really being sure who their father was. The man they thought he was was suppose to be dead but they had their suspicions. His father also always made sure the Cruz was protecting his mom and sister Adriana. This did not thrill her and she hated it. She didn’t get why she had bodyguards and a brother who was always by her side pretty much running everyone off and all she ever wanted was to make friends the way that everyone else does. This leads to a graduation party and an argument where the truth does come out and Cruz is tested and he still ends up at the party with is sister. He doesn’t want to be there, until he sees Sienna, the daughter of a mafia king and he is smitten which leads him to go to her and leave his sister with her bodyguards watching after her. Everything is fine until it isn’t and this is the beginning of El Diablo being born again. Can he follow in his father’s footsteps or will he be even more bad to bone then his father was? Your going to get the answer and so much more.
I did not put this book down. I did not even inhale a super deep breath until the very end of this book. It was/is everything you have been waiting on when you got the news this book was coming. One thing you probably will not expect is the slow burn of the book. Its even slower than slow actually or I felt it was but that didn’t bother me one bit. I was just happy to be here and have this book in my hands. This book is also going to make you run the roller coaster of emotions from fear to anger, love and lust, guilt and repentance, and adrenaline. There is just not enough worlds to say how much I loved this book and how much it was worth waiting on. M. Robinson has blow me away once again in the El Diablo world and I could just spend forever in this world with all theses characters I am loving so much. Do not miss this book if you like them dark and gritty, with a side of emotions and heartfelt moments. This will go down as one of my favorite reads of 2020 too.
