You murder a man, and all of a sudden people are scared of you. Slate Solis went from being a guy that people went to in times of need to an ex-con that people crossed the street to avoid being too close to. He knows he has done wrong, but out of all of his sins, only one rally bothers him–coveting thy neighbor’s wife. Harleigh Belle, the cute lady that never gives him a second glance. After seeing her for the first time while he was in prison, she’s stayed on his mind for three long years. Each time she comes in to visit with her friend on family day, he can’t help by stare. Then the day comes that he’s set free, and he’s almost disappointed that he’ll never see her again. Except fate has different plans. He hasn’t been back in his house for more than three hours when he sees her. Harleigh Belle in all her glory..oh and her husband that is everything Slate isn’t . He tells himself that her being fifty feet away from him, all day every day is a complete coincidence. One that he shouldn’t take advantage of. The more time passes, the harder it gets to stay away. Until one day, and one very ill-timed thunderstorm ruin everything. Who knew that baby making weather was a real thing?

If you have read any of this series then you know who Slate is from a previous book. You too will know that his partner and fiancee were killed and Slate when after her killer. He then found himself with a murder charge. Now the time has come for him to get out of prison and for him to move into the house that he bought before he went to prison. The very house his sister is staying in and his MC brothers just don’t seem to understand him anymore. All he wants is to be left alone. However he can not keep his neighbors out of his yard and that is the last place he wants Harleigh to be. This woman is mouthy and makes some serious assumptions about Slate. However when she starts to get to know him you can so tell they have some amazing chemistry. Also you need to be prepared for Harleigh’s story. I know Slates by Harleigh’s I was not quiet ready for. WOW!!! I too loved the fact that we get to see some old familiar faces that I know we have all grown to love with each and every book. If you love a frenemies to lovers book then you don’t want to miss this one. I will always say too to read the headers under each chapter They never fail to crack me up and I love them.
