 Release Date: December 10

It all started with a kiss, something docile and sweet. It all ended with blood, murder and scars.

Once upon a time there was a girl with hair like gold. She was subjected to the cruel of this world.

For she was no princess, but a mere pawn, her beauty something others sought.

In this world she didn’t know who to trust, because to the cruel prince she didn’t want to belong.

This made her callous and cold. The once nice girl turned into a monster on her own.

So she struck a deal with an unsuspecting knight—but they spoke in riddles, deceit and lies.

Because not everything that glitters is gold sometimes it’s something much worse…

***Author’s Note***

This is a dark romance. If you’ve read me before you know the deal, and if you have not this book is full of triggering content.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is a book in the Twisted Tales Series. This is a series of dark retellings of stories I’m sure you know well and so far I have read three of them. This one really is amazing and I love that these are standalone stories.
Gilded Cage is about Aspen and Mason Stiltskin. And that’s all I feel like I can say. I have tried to write this review like five times and I’m still struggling because I do not want to give something away. Aspen works and when I say works I mean that there is a secret society called The Order and they seems to thrive on keeping the poor, poor and the rich richer so they have servants and when you are a servant in the Order you are one till you die. Aspens family is dependent on the Stiltskin’s for everything they have and if it wasn’t for them they would be destitute. When a couple in the servants of the Order have a baby that baby will be the servant when they get older and her children and her children’s children. I hope I explained that right. I can say learning that part made me really sad though. That’s not life to live and I’m sure that Aspen had to want more. After all she works and homeschools because they don’t really want them educated but the chance to go to school comes along by some miracle and this is where Mason and Aspen start to get close. It is her job to do for him his laundry and whatever else she is told to do and she only has spoken to him once and then he disappeared to study abroad but he is now back and they shouldn’t be talking at all. It’s against the rules of the Order. He is her master after all and she literally bows to him. Mason will break your heart. His family may be in the order but there are richer family’s like the Kelly’s and at school their son Liam is horrible to Mason and calls him names and beats him. But he takes an interest in Aspen. A friendship though is blooming until it isn’t and then things got kind of crazy and backwards and sideways and our sweet little Mason and Aspen are not the same people. This book is dark. It was twisted but so good and a read that I did not want to put down. There are so many things that I could talk about about this book to see if others felt the same way but I can not and that’s why this review was so hard to write. This is probably my third book by C. Lymari and if you have not read her before you are really missing out. I want to go back and read all the books but she has a new fan as I am hooked.
