Stephanie’s 4 Star Review:
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
I would like to congratulate Carly Phillips on writing a book that touches on mental illness. It’s difficult enough in society to mention one might have issues that “normal” society doesn’t understand – much less write them into a character who could be good or bad.
Kaden Barnes is a hard man to work for. He has a routine and sticks to it. He also likes things just so. When Lexie Parker comes to work for him he tries his best to not scare her off with his demands. To his surprise she’s willing to put up with his difficult self as she needs the job.
Lexie’s twin sister and mother both have mental illnesses that have hurt her relationships and job history. She needs this assistant job to Kaden Barnes. No matter how difficult he may be.
The one thing neither counted on was their hot as fire attraction to each other. Their need to be in each other’s space. But it’s never a good thing to mix business with pleasure. It can get nasty. Then someone’s out of a job.
All to quickly Lexie finds herself in a pickle. The only thing she can do about it is to figure out how to make it all right again. Sometimes family can be your savior but other times they can be your biggest downfall.
This is what I think you’ll enjoy “watching” come together. Priorities is the name of the game. Which will be the victor?
