Catching Cassidy is a wonderful coming of age story involving friends to lovers scenario. Wyatt Armstrong just graduated from college. What should have been a time for celebration turned about to be time of mourning instead. Wyatt and his twin sister have to deal with the untimely loss of their parents. In an attempt to get over their loss he takes their ashes to spread at their summer home in Harborside. He brings his sidekick and best friend Cassidy along. They’ve been there for each other since they were kids. As they get closer over the summer, they find a spark, but is it real? Or is this just a heated summer romance that will have them part ways at the end?

I really enjoyed this book. Melissa Foster’s writing flows easily and I found that I was able to be completely engulfed in the story. Her description of Harborside was so well written, I really felt like I was there. I like the classic friends to lovers plot and I’m excited to read what else she has in store for us in her series.

Discovering Delilah is the second installment in the Harborside Nights series. This story is Delilah’s story. She is the twin sister of Wyatt whose story was told in the first book, Catching Cassidy. This story begins shortly after Catching Cassidy. Delilah is still struggling to come to terms with her parent’s loss. She is also struggling with another part of her that creates guilt. Delilah wants to be honest with the world and thought she would finally have the guts to “come out” after she graduated. Unfortunately, her parents had always been so conservative and were very open about how they felt about same sex relationships. With their untimely death the day after graduation, it becomes harder for Delilah to do just that. She is having a terrible sense of guilt. Ashley is her close friend whom she feels very strongly about. Ashley also has sworn to never date another woman who wasn’t “out of the closet” so to say. Delilah and Ashley’s chemistry and passion is so strong. But being with Ashley could risk everything.

This was a different sort of read for me. I have read LGBT books before, but this one goes above and beyond putting the emotion into to it. I really felt the inner conflict and struggle Delilah was experiencing. This was such a powerful and eye opening story. Beautifully written. I can’t say enough good things about it. Well Done, Melissa Foster! 5 well-deserved stars!
