This is the second book in the Sweetest Revenge Series from Helen Scott and Zoey Shelby. You have to first read Bloody Princess first. You know if you have read the first book, Bloody Princess, that there are some seriously twisted things going on and that doesn’t let up in the second book either. This is after all a dark romance and one heck of a twisted tale. Lyric is still trying to figure out who killed her sister. After all you can’t have revenge if you don’t know who did it. But she at the same time is pledging and has to survive that too. That’s rough and made me so glad I was never a pledge for anything in college. There will be some new enemies that come to light in this book and a whole lost more secrets. Lyric though is still a bad butt for a girl who was raised to seduce men and kick butt. But she has had her fair share of loss and that has helped to to mold her into the amazing female character that she is. I don’t know weather I would have her meet up with me for coffee or smile, say hi, and walk away quickly. But that’s what a girl needs when she is facing They Boys of Ascendance Bay. These boys are all after all, from some of the wealthiest and most powerful families. But they are all in Lyric’s world now and each have their part to play but they were all also friends with her little sister when she died. They all know who she is and have from the get go but that sure isn’t stopping them from looking at her like she’s so much more. Somehow though they all fit together and I really enjoy all of them that way. So I am rotting for getting my pants shocked off me when we find out what really happened. This is a book I could not put down and when it ended I am pretty sure my jaw was on the floor. I need the next book, Cruel Rain as soon as possible!

I’d been reborn twice in my life. The first time, I’d been reborn in violence, in the pool of my mother’s blood—a child who didn’t understand the pain she was feeling, turned into a monster. The second time, after Danny was killed, I’d been reborn as a husk of a human being. Maybe I hadn’t been reborn at all. Maybe I’d just finally let go of the shreds of humanity I’d been clinging to those few years in between.
It was after Danny’s death that I’d given myself over to Sampson and my father. I’d known there was no way to fight them—not from where I was then, and not from where I am now.
