This is a complete stand alone in the St. Mary’s Series. It is not necessary to read the other books in the series, but as I have read them all I feel like it makes the experience of each new book in the series much better than if I had not read them.
This is the story of Tobias and Sloan. He is her best friends brother and now she is about to become his tutor. She is the girl who loves to nurse broken birds back to health and Tobias is just broken. The poor guy has just not had good things happen in his life and for that reason he doesn’t think he is deserving of love and that he could never ever love anyone. New to St. Mary’s he is trying his level best to keep his past experiences hidden from everyone. However he is about to meet his match in Sloane because it is her nature to want to fix everything. She is compassionate, very protective and if she is your friend she will always be loyal to you. However she has a past that is very sorted and she never had any control in the outcome of those things that to this day still haunt her in more ways that I think she ever realizes. When the tutoring starts though Tobias realizes that he needs Sloane more than he would ever admit, even to himself, and she just can’t help but to crave helping him. Talk about a perfect storm that is really about to explode in tensions of every kind flying all over the place. These two have a fiery attraction to each other. This book will hook you from the moment you pick it up and I swear I could have kept reading about these two for a very long time. This is a book that you aren’t going to want to miss. However like I said it is better to read the other books. If you haven’t done that though you are missing out on some great read. This one though is my favorite. There is just something about Tobias that really hooks you and doesn’t let you go even after you are finished you will still be thinking about this story for a good while.
