This is the first book in the new Made for the Mafia Series from Erika Wilde. Each of the books in this series are suppose to be standalone book with big old HEA’s.
This is the story of Vincent Russo who is the oldest son of the head of the Russo Organization. He is his father’s right hand man and is the heir apparent to the kingdom. He has always done whatever his father needs him to do no matter what it is. But the time has come that his father is really pushing him to get a bride but Vincent is not as convinced as his father. He’s made it to his middle thirties by himself with no woman at his side and is very set in his ways. But if the guy is gonna settle down he can’t just do it with anyone. He wants someone who is a whole lot like him. An equal partner if you will that isn’t just a girl that is stupid and only looks good when she has her mouth shut and on his arm.
Maria Preston just might be that girl. She is from a low level mafia family so she knows what the Mafia life is all about. While her brothers were out in the world talking care of family business, she went to college and got a job and had life outside of the family and their business. Her real dream in life is to not marry a mafia man and truly leave the family business behind for good and never look back. But when one of her brothers are killed but before he died he made her promise to find out who did this to him. There is not a better person in this world to help her than Vincent. She just never expects that when they first meet they would be so attracted to each other. It seems they are have met their perfect match and that is always great but things don’t always go as you have them planned to.
I loved this story and I love the characters. This book was so great that I didn’t want to lay it down an I was kind of sad when it was through. This book will take you on an adventure and have you one the edge of your seats at times.
