This is a dark book so if you have triggers you will want to proceed with caution. I loved this book so much. I couldn’t get enough of it. This is the story of Lydia who is one determined girl to help her father and in doing so she seduces his shady business partner, Malcolm McLane. The plan was to seduce him a then blackmail him. But things don’t go the way she wanted them to and some traumatizing events have her fleeing her family and the town she has always lived in. But things are not good and she has not choice but to return a year later and things are not at all what she expected to find when she gets there. She thinks Malcolm has had enough time to forget about what she attempted to do. But she underestimated him and he is now playing a game of if you have my money you keep quiet and do what he tells you. Then she meets his son Carter and things really get going but I’m not going to tell you anything about Carter. I admit I didn’t really know what I was going into when I started this book but it was amazing and I loved every single second of it. It will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat for sure. This has a very forbidden/taboo feeling and if you love those kinds of book then you are going to love this one and don’t want to miss it.
