Did you fall in love with The English Brothers? Were you hot for the Winslows? Katy Regnery’s New York Times bestselling Blueberry Lane series continues with The Rousseau siblings in Summer 2016!
Jacqueline “Jax” Rousseau is vivacious, rich, smart and beautifulbut that doesn’t mean she’s lucky in love: she’s dated doctors, lawyers, actors and politicians who’ve all managed to end up disappointing her. In fact, she’s on a self-imposed hiatus from love when she has an unpleasant run-in with her neighbor’s gorgeous new landscaper, Gardener Lenox. Jax is not accustomed to gruff, ill-mannered men that can’t be charmed, but when he saves her skin, she realizes that something about Gard intrigues her…and if she can find her way through the armor that surrounds his heart, she might finally find a love that won’t let her down.
Stephanie’s 4 Star Review:
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
You know people automatically assume two things about a person when they hear their name. They assume they’re extremely nice or they’re an awful person and want nothing to do with them. In the case of famous actors/actresses/producers/etc – people in the public eye – you have a preconceived notion about how these people live their lives and what they’re like based on how the media portray’s them. Jacqueline aka Jax Rousseau is no exception to these assumptions.
Jax is from a wealthy family – so automatically people assume she would be above them in general. Then by her chosen career and success that adds another layer to the mix. Meeting Gardner Lenox is a refreshing change from people kissing her rear end every day.
Gardner gives her no mercy. He’s rough and brash…but not without his reasons. You just have to peel back his layers to figure out why this man is the way he is. When he meets Jax – in the garden he’s working in on a neighbor of hers property – he doesn’t fall at her feet. Though you can tell neither of these two are uneffected by the meeting.
Seemingly from different worlds these two characters must walk through their issues with each other in order to break through their personal chains and see/be something different.
Author Katy Regnery has created a mix of two worlds that may just be perfect for one another. Seemingly white and blue collar mixing together with ease. Does it really matter what the background where love is concerned?
