I found peace in the last place I expected, but it was a mirage built on lies and unfulfilled promises.

I thought we somehow managed to find a way to co-exist in their little lair, but as usual I was wrong.

The second I felt settled, a corrupt Hawk turns up and flips everything I’ve come to know—and dare to trust— on its head.

Without a choice, I’m dragged out into the night by the man I vowed to obey— Maverick Murray.

Taken away from the protection of the man I loved to hate— Reid Harris.

Torn from the arms of the man who’s been my savior throughout this whole ordeal— Julian Dempsey.

They all had their reasons for needing me alive, but it was JD, the loyal best friend to the ruthless leader who taught me all about playing with fire.

The cocky playboy who likes to think himself a joker.

Just one smile from him and everything seems easier.

One touch and the rest of the world falls away.

The last thing I want to do is hurt him.

But I can’t forget that he’s a part of all this.

JD hurt me, even if it was with pleasure.

I never made a secret of where my loyalties lie.

And I have no choice but to leave him and Reid behind, as I clutch my husband’s hand, trusting that he knows best.

But what’s best for me, is the worst thing for JD. Because without me… his darkness just might pull him under.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the third book in the Harrow Creek Hawks. If you haven’t already you need to read the first two books Merciless and Relentless. This book picks up right where we left off in Relentless. I was so excited to be back with Alana, Mav, JD and Reid. They all keep getting stronger and stronger in each and every book and I loved that so much. That’s not to say that they don’t really go through it to get stronger though. I loved the focus we got on Maverick and Alana and how that connection has grown and he finally, finally gives in to what he has wanted all along. I think I actually cheered out loud I was so excited. However there is always this little thing called reality and it doesn’t give them much of a break at all. JD and Reid are home though while the other two are away. JD is dealing with his darkness and I swear my heart really broke for him. Reid however is very busy trying everything in his power to take down all their enemies. There is a lot going on in this book, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved when they all were able to come back together. I am loving the little family of their own choosing and the bond they all have is just a beautiful thing to read about. I loved seeing different sides of each and every one of them. This book has a little bit of everything that you want in a great romance. Now we just have to wait for the next book too see how everything is going to come together. I am loving this series so very much.
