Virginia’s review:
Love in Rewind is a great debut novel by Tali Alexander!! It is so different from any of the other books I’ve read.
Love in Rewind is the story of Louis and Emily. The book starts in the present and Emily is not happy in their marriage. The story then goes back in time to how they met and how it all began. We get their whole story and then we end up back in the present. The way Tali did that was just awesome. I loved it.
Something I loved about Louis and Emily’s story is this- Louis has money. A lot of money. So in that respect, their lives are different than yours and mine. But Tali wrote the story showing that having money doesn’t mean having happiness. Even though they have money and live a life most of us don’t, they still go through what we all do- love, pain, happiness, hurt, anger, etc. Life.
Tali does something very creative and unique- Emily and her best friend Sarah use 80s songs to communicate how they feel about things, people and situations throughout the book. Not only are the songs tied into the scenes but there are links to all of the songs so you can listen to them if you want to. I thought that was pretty awesome.
From the way she handled the timeline, to the use of the songs, to the alternating point of views, Tali did a great job. Oh yeah, and she sure can write a hot, steamy scene. Love in Rewind is great- go one click!
