Lunamare by Pepper Winters is now live!

“Is it true…that you pulled a lion from the ocean and fell in love with him?”

ASLAN

The sixteen-year-old boy named after a lion.

A boy with his entire life ahead of him.

A boy running from a terrible secret.

All it takes is one awful night to change everything.

One secret, one smuggler, one boat, one storm.

And he wakes in an entirely different existence.

Staring into the ocean-blue eyes of his twelve-year-old rescuer.

NERIDA

The twelve-year-old girl named after a sea nymph.

A girl with lofty dreams and absolute faith that she’ll achieve them.

All it takes is a bright, sunny morning to change everything.

One boy clinging to wreckage, one sea cradling him close, one chance at keeping him safe.

He’s illegal and unwanted.

She’s stubborn and so sure.

He’s lost absolutely everything.

And she’s found the only thing she ever wanted.

They begin as rescued and rescuer.

Slowly growing from twelve and sixteen.

He’s not allowed to touch her.

She’s convinced he is the one.

But as each day dawns on his illegal existence, Aslans’s secrets creep ever closer, the death he ran from hunts ever faster, and the darkness that he can’t get free of finally finds him.

And it costs him…

everything.

A true coming-of-age story that spans a lifetime. This book deals with heavy subjects and it is advised you check the Content Warnings on the Author’s website.

Lunamare is a tangled romance that fans of The Ribbon Duet will love. Combining the beautiful drama of Nicholas Sparks with the brutality of dark romance, Pepper Winters has created a tale of soulmates, secrets, cruelty, and heart-wrenching love.

Renee’s Five Star Review  I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports. This is the story of Aslan and Nerida. He is a sixteen year old boy who was named after a lion and is running from a terrible secret. However one night his secret, a smuggler a boat and a storm and he wakes up in an entirely different existence. He is also staring into the ocean blue eyes of the twelve year old girl who rescued him. Nerida is twelve and named after a sea myth. She has some seriously big dreams and is absolutely certain she will achieve them. One bright sunny morning and everything changes. She only has one chance to keep the boy she sees clinging to wreckage with the sea cradling him close. He is illegal and unwanted and she is stubborn and sure. He has lost everything and she has found the only thing in life she has ever wanted. They begin as rescued and rescuer and slowly grow from twelve to sixteen. He isn’t allowed to touch her and she is convinced he is the one. But with each day that dawn on his illegal existence his secrets creep ever closer. The death he ran from is hunting faster than ever, and the darkness that he can’t get free of finally find him. It cost him everything. This book does deal with some heavy subject matter. You are going to want to check the content warnings on the author’s website. This is also the first book in The Luna Love Duet. This story is going to take you through six years of time and is told from the past and there is an interview with two journalists too. Neri lives near Australia surrounded by the ocean and she one day rescues a Turkish boy . His boat was caught up in a horrible storm and he is the only one to survive the boat accident. Now he is living with her family and keeping a huge secret. A secret so huge it could destroy the rest of his life. He is forbidden to fall for her but this is the journey of them both falling. This book is very angst filled and they bond over love and family secrets and lies. Some discover and exploration and the finding of your forever soul mates. I know this is vague but I can’t really go into the story. I think this is one of those books that you need to experience on your own with as little information as possible. I dove right in and didn’t come up for air for the longest time. I was so sucked into this story that nothing else really mattered for a little while. This book is dark and light and one that you will not put down and be begging for the next book to see what is going to happen. It is certainly one that you do not want to miss.
