The man was sinful. It wasn’t just the looks that made him dangerous, it was the cocky confidence that dominated every move, every touch. And the frustrating yet ecstatic fact about the whole package was that he could back it all up…
Julia Campbell never knows what to expect with win-at-all-costs Brad De Luca. And she’s starting to like it that way. She gave up safe, conventional relationships when she let the elite divorce attorney seduce her into his world. Now that he’s determined to strip her naked of every inhibition, she’s in danger of falling too deep and too fast.
But their affair begins to feel even more dangerous when a murder leaves a trail of suspicion that points straight to the mob…and Brad. Trusting a man with a bad reputation and a past full of secrets seems like a mistake. But when she’s forced to make a choice, the consequences will take her further than she could ever have imagined.
Stephanie’s 4 Star Review
I like this series. I read Blindfold Innocence for this tour as well as Masked Innocence and the trials and tribulations of Brad & Julia are quite interesting. If you haven’t read either of these let me give you a brief run down. Julia is an undergrad student aspiring to be an attorney. She lands an internship at a law firm that will be her stepping stone for law school. She is assigned to work as the intern for the firm partner, Kent Broward, who handles mostly corporate litigation. She’s warned numerous times to stay away from divorce attorney and partner, Brad De Luca. She’s exactly his type and neither need the distraction. Not to mention her boss harbors a severe amount of hatred for Brad.
Ok…so you’re kinda caught up now. Needless to say Brad & Julia meet and he convinces her to embark on a trial run of what type of relationship they could have. They date a bit and have off the charts sex. By their mutual agreement they decide to pursue taking their relationship to the next level. The major issue with this is Brad is still holding onto his secrets like a locked vault. The feelings Julia has for him are super strong and she looks past the fact she knows little to nothing about Brad other than his playboy ways.
Brad’s sexual activities are pretty broad and he talks Julia into delving into a world she never thought she’d try. While falling into this world and in love with Brad, Julia over hears a conversation her boss has on the phone in his office and the day after his demise she’s calling the investigator leaving messages about what she’s over heard in turn marking her life for deletion.
Ok…so I won’t spoil anymore of the story for you. There’s great steamy scenes in these books and good drama as well. I’m looking forward to the third book coming out later this month. I love that Julia is a strong female character and she gives as good as she gets with Brad though he’s alpha enough to get her to back down when he absolutely means it. I’ve enjoyed following their love story and I hope their story will be able to have a happy ending. It could go either way at this point. There are interesting side stories going on in the main story line and I look forward to seeing how it all works out.
Excerpt:
My orgasm was long, hard, and insanely good – visions filling my head, my eyes opening intermittently seeing faces, hearing words, knowing that a room was watching – the knowledge stretching out the orgasm, and I was close to sobbing when it ended, my body collapsed against him, legs useless.
I sagged in his arms, my thighs wet, body quaking. I had just come, in front of this whole room, men staring, my breasts hanging out, my panties ripped and tossed on the floor. I should have felt like a slut, a dirty whore. But instead I felt liberated, aroused. It was an interesting discovery, to know that I liked being dirty. I wanted to be stared at, pointed to, to have men lining up to fuck me. Inside, I felt a release of some tie, some leash undone, and I knew my descent into sexual awareness was just now starting. I wasn’t sure if I could ever tie it back into orderly place.
