When this book came across my email I jumped at the chance to review this book. I’ve read a few of Katy’s titles and love her writing style. She’s fun and playful and I just new this one would be no different.
So you have Matthew Hamilton who’s father was President of the United States of America when he was a teenager/young adult. His dad was always telling everyone Matt would be President one day. At that point, Matt just humored his father. Until he decided to run for President for real.
When Charlotte was a preteen she was fortunate to meet Matt and his father when they came to dinner at her house. Her father being a US Senator added clout to the party they were both part of. Charlotte decided then she would marry Matthew Hamilton. You know – like every young girl in search of her Prince Charming.
All grown up now Matt is running for President and happens to run into Charlotte at one of his campaign fundraisers. He makes a point to spend time wooing Charlotte to help working on his Presidential campaign.
Gosh these two. They’re experiences in life are somewhat the same but different. Charlotte’s parents sheltered her from the nasty part of politics. Now she’s seeing it first hand. Matthew is determined to help shield her from the mess that is the Presidential race.
Their attraction to each other is palatable. Neither can stay away. However it’s the worst timing ever for a relationship. Matt will be married to America if he wins the election. Is Charlotte willing to take a back seat to the country she loves for the man she loves?
