How much would you sell your soul for? Would it be truly worth the price?  Lola has attracted a man who’s wealthy, handsome, and wants to spend time with her.  Lola’s boyfriend is concerned but not enough to stop the deal.  I was like – dude he really doesn’t love you if he’s willing to sell you.  Yet, she still holds home.  How can you really trust someone after all that?  Really.  I just don’t get it.  Here we are – the night of the agreement.  Lola and Beau have an fantastic time even though she tries to fight it constantly.  She shouldn’t be enjoying herself as she has a boyfriend right?  (Ya think?!?)  I wanted to say to this character:  “I think your relationship with Johnny has run it’s course.  He was willing to sell you to get what he wanted.  What does that tell you he’s really thinking?”  That would tell me he thinks I’m expendable.  Not truly in love.  Not with her anyway.  Some soul searching needs to happen here.I enjoyed this novella by Jessica Hawkins.  I think she did a great job building her characters and their interactions are quite interesting.  I’m looking forward to seeing how this serial pans out.I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
