Octavius is a man who has power, money and status. None of this was handed down to him by his family. He has fought with blood, sweat and tears for everything he has. No one would every try to go against him or he will destroy them. Right now he is after a man who thinks he can get away. He faked his death a long time ago. But he isn’t fooling anyone. He has a plan because everyone comes after what they want and this guy wants Isla.
Isla is a police officer. I don’t think this was her dream but something horrible happened to her and her parents were killed. She then is sent to live with her Uncle Grayson who becomes her boss. She is now a police officer but she is in big trouble. She almost blew a case but that’s not exactly the first time either. She gets distracted when she thinks he is near. She is out for revenge and she will have it. But this time she has messed up one to many times and her Chief is transferring her to Chicago for a fresh start and to get herself together and stop focusing on revenge that is going to ruin her career. Packing up and going to Chicago puts her in the same city as Octavius and when she finds out she is coming he is not thrilled. He knows secrets. Big secrets that could destroy her. She thinks she wants the truth, but she really doesn’t and she isn’t going to let it go. The Church Killer is a serial kileer and she is going to find him if it is the last things she does. She is obsessed with this mission and he is obsessed with her. I just have to say that I loved this book. I was hooked from the beginning and devoured it. I also have to say that it isn’t every day that someone has a pet leopard living with them. Keep in mind this is a dark romance. Such a good one too. I don’t mean to be confusing in my description of this book. It is hard to tell you much when I feel like anything I say could give something away. Now run and get this book and love it just as much as I did. There is just now way that you won’t.

V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her momma over the genre she liked (romance, duh!)
