Oh my gosh! So when I tell you – Jake Sharp is my new book boyfriend – you should be in shock. Awe even. Why you say? Because the only other book boyfriend to be in my #1 spot is Jesse Ward in Jodi’s This Man series. Back to Jake. Gosh I just don’t know how eloquently I can say this. He’s awesomesauce. HA! How’s that?
So Jake is a bodyguard. Now I know you’re thinking Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. It’s not really far off the base except the whole back story. Anyway. Jake. How many times can I mention his name in this review. Ah…Jake. This man. He’s definitely got some stuff going on. He’s trying to replace facing his own life with protecting who he’s been hired to protect. In this particular case it’s a gorgeous socialite by the name of Camille.
Camille doesn’t need a babysitter. She’s an adult trying to make her way in the world – out from the spotlight of daddy’s money. Thought her daddy says otherwise. Camille must be protected at all times until he deems otherwise. Jake has his hands full with this woman. She’s sneaky – or so she thinks. She’s conniving – or so she thinks. Jake’s soulless – or so she thinks.
I’m telling you – hands full! Gosh but what a guy Jake is. He’s two steps ahead but in this process he’s also noticing his beautiful, smart, got it going on protectee. Really notices her. She’s been invisible for so long to so many she can’t believe he really listens to her and learns the little things no one else has picked up on.
So you see here – these two- they’re going to give each other a run for their money. They’re going to be tangled in ways neither of them could predict at the beginning of their connection. Protector and protectee.
And boy does it connect.
