I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Their first conversation starts with her saying what’s wrong with my butt? She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he has seen in his life. Apparently, answering her with “not a darn thing” wasn’t what she expected. She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat either. All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, fall head over heels in love with Wrigley Field. From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends up with them eloping to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the butt grandmother to thank for it. Not that he is complaining or anything. Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of the World Series? The only problem is trying to convince her of that.

I loved this book. You will fall in love with both George and Wrigley and I love baseball, so there is that too. These two belong together, even if she knows nothing about baseball, and I loved the insta love of it all. However you shouldn’t expect them to just fall in to a happily every after. After all she has a horrible brother, a sister that is great until she isn’t and then there is the press to deal with. Sometimes you have to go through a lot of crap to get to the good stuff and George and Wrigley certainly go through it. This book is just the perfect length to escape for the day and of course may favorite part of any Lani Lynn Vale book is the little sayings she puts across the top of each chapter. I swear they will crack you up and I look forward to every single one of them.
