This is the story of Donovan and Alani. Donovan is a man who has suffered a loss so great that he swore that he would never let that happen to him again. He is a mercenary and he has absolutely no attachments and he likes it that way. However when Ayla and Nash as him to watch over her sister Alani. She is a girl dealing with the loss of her parents and the kidnapping and rescue of her sister among other things. She is certainly dealing with a whole lot of trauma. The way she deals with this is to put herself in danger. This leads her to Donovan who she has no idea has been asked to watch out for her. She is a college freshman and he is a mercenary and he sure never thought he would be hooking up with a college freshman. However it was certainly easier than following the girl all over campus. However kidnapping her was never part of the plan to look out for her. However when his promise is fulfilled he lets her go and never expects it to be one of the hardest things he ever did. He actually can’t get her out of his head and following her just might turn to stalking and the game of cat and mouse they begin to play. While all might be fun and games to her when the time comes and she gets bored will she be able to discard him or will she be just as attached to him as he is her? You have to read to find out. But this book is good. I loved the characters and the story. It was one that you will loved and need in your life.
