Maggie’s Review

I really like this novella. it was fun and hot! A young, somewhat gullible woman, learning about the really world and what it means to be an independent adult, with the help of a well educated, and wealthy teacher. *Insert giggle here. Very good for a short story, and looking forward to reading the second part of the story.

Carla’s Review-

3 stars for Belonging by J S Wilder.  This is a quick 40 page novella.  It is the first installment of a six part series.  There are only a few reviews posted for this book, and I am surprised to read that they were all positive.  Maybe I am missing something, but this is just not my cup of tea.

Deborah is a poor girl who has studied hard in order to obtain her life long dream of attending Oxford University.  Due to family circumstances, she is not eligible to receive any scholarships and her family can not afford to pay her tuition.  She thinks her dreams have come true when she is summoned to Oxford and told that a benefactor who goes by Mrs. Smith will pay for her education.  She is told that she must spend her last weekend before going to Oxford at the Smith’s residence.Once there, events transpire tat leave Deborah warring with her emotions

I did not  care for this book because, in my opinion, the Smith’s are using their wealth to use and objectify the poor.  As I stated before, all of the other reviews for this book were really positive.  I, however, would not recommend this book.

*I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
