review

3 stars for Lies and Truth, book one in the Truth series, by Elaine May.
CAUTION- this is a tale of dark romance, so if you are not a fan of this
genre this is not a book that you will enjoy.

After losing her family in an accident, Isla’s life it turned upside down.
Her once idyllic life is over.  Her soul mate, Joshua, is told she is dead
while she is forced into a life of torture and abuse.  Several years later,
Isla is given a tad bit of freedom, and she crosses paths with Joshua once
again.  Because she goes by a different name, Joshua is not sure if it
really is Isla.  Once he realizes that she is in fact his long lost love,
will they be able to recapture their lost love, or will evil triumph in the
end?

Although I enjoyed parts of this story line, I couldn’t seem to connect
with the characters.  Also, the timing of events was quite confusing which
made it difficult to follow.  *I was given a copy of this book as a gift by
Stephanie’s Book Reports in exchange for an honest review.
