synopsis

COMPANION NOVEL to the TANGLED WEB series

Kory McCallister has had her eyes on tattoo artist Stone Bowman for quite some time—so long, in fact, that no other guy will do. Stone pushes every turn on button Kory has—he’s tattooed from head to toe; he’s hot; he’s funny and charming; and he’s also mysterious. So when Kory’s friends dare her to ask Stone out on a date, she can’t believe she actually finds the guts to do it.

More surprising? He takes her up on the offer.

She discovers that, while his past might not be quite as dark or mysterious as she’d imagined, it’s bigger than she’d expected, and it’s something she will need to contend with if she decides she wants to keep him around to color her life for good.

The Author

Jade C. Jamison was born and raised in Colorado and has decided she likes it enough to stay forever. Jade’s day job is teaching Creative Writing, but teaching doesn’t stop her from doing a little writing herself.

Unfortunately, there’s no one genre that quite fits her writing. Her work has been labeled romance, erotica, suspense, and women’s fiction, and the latter is probably the safest and closest description. But you’ll see that her writing doesn’t quite fit any of those genres.

You’ll have to discover Jade’s writing for yourself to decide if you like it.

Carla’s Review:

*I was given this copy as a gift in exchange for an honest review.

4 stars for Punctured, Bruised, and Tattooed by Jade C. Jamison.  This is a stand alone novel, but it is a companion novel to the Tangled Web series.

Kory is a young woman who has endured more in her short life than most people will ever have to face.  She is a survivor.  She has blocked out the really horrific details surrounding the trauma that she suffered as a young girl.

Years have passed, and she feels like she has finally let go of the demons that had been preventing her from moving on.  She decides that she wants a piercing, so she goes into Iron Maiden, the most popular tattoo shop in her hometown.  When she meets Stone Bowman, she begins to crush on him pretty hard.  He is tatted up all over and down right sexy.  So, does she ask him out? No!  Instead, she spends a couple of years going in to his shop from time to time to get more piercings.  It isn’t that she really wants the piercings, she just wants to be close to Stone.  After some badgering from her friends, she finds the nerve to ask him out, and he says yes.

Kory and Stone each carry secrets that they don’t really want to share with one another.  Will they find the trust that they need in order to feel safe with one another?  Maybe just maybe they will share their secrets and discover that their love for one another is strong enough to bear the brunt of a few secrets.

This was a good read.  There were times when I lost interest because I felt like the story was being dragged out too much.  Over, I enjoyed it and would have no problem recommending it.
