Robin’s Review:
I found this novel when I accidentally stumbled into the release party on Facebook. I read its blurb and one clicked so fast, my amazon account laughed at me!
You know that moment when you finish a book and you realize that you will remember it forever, and are changed by it? This was that kind of book for me. When I turned the last page on my kindle app, I was so sad that the book was over. In my head, I even thought of a sequel. Yes, this book is that good.
This novel starts with the wayward angel Remiel being sent to Earth. Remi’s mission is to save Evangeline. The last time Remi was on Earth was during Woodstock, where he may have raised a storm. So Remi’s job is to save Evie from her demons. Evie is battling depression and crippling guilt. Remi must save her, but here is the catch, he can’t let her know he is an angel AND he must do all this as a priest. A HOT priest, with very human desires.
I really enjoyed how the author propelled this story by delving into the battlefields of depression, guilt, lust and the desire to do what is right. Of course, then your very definition of right and wrong is challenged. The layers of plot are so thick in this novel. As soon as I thought the love story was the center issue, I thought maybe the bigger issue was the battle between Remi and his Boss, or maybe it was Evie and her battle with mental issues. Each layer took on a life of its own!
I am going to be honest, I have thought about Remi each and every day since I finished this book. I keep looking around to see if a black feather has fallen to let me know Remi is around. I know….he is fictional….but we all understand how much those fictional characters can touch our hearts in real life. Get to know the angel with just a touch of the devil inside.
