Lizzie O’Malley, a twenty three year old free spirited young woman, is on the run to find her purpose in life. In the summer of 2000, she returns home to Boston, Massachusetts to begin a life that she can be proud of. On her first night out on the town with a friend, tragedy strikes and she finds herself the cause of emotional wreckage. Instead of dealing, she concentrates on the man she met that first night. Teagan Gallagher, a twenty two year old college student from Ireland, spends the summer of 2000 in Boston, Massachusetts, working towards his degree and partying his way through the city. One night he finds a beautiful American girl that he is desperate to spend the summer with. Together, Teagan and Lizzie learn the ins and outs of an unconventional relationship. It isn’t until their relationship is in so deep that it becomes impossible for one or the other to run away.
In my rare off time, I enjoy baseball with my family. My husband and our two children are major Rangers and Red Sox fans. We live between San Antonio and Austin, Texas and I like it here. It’s very quiet, a great place to write. I also own my own macramé necklace business, Devika Knots. I started it with my daughter five years ago and it has become a great business. So art is my life now. I feel blessed and honored to be among the Author Club.
Mebane’s review:
This is a short read with vivid imagery and dynamic characters. Lizzie really well developed as a lost young adult who uses alcohol and sex to avoid dealing with reality. She is instantly attracted to Teagan and the sex, romance and fun times take over. While the characters are completely believable and the crazy young party life is extremely realistic, for me the story is almost too realistic. I read to escape and enjoy more paranormal or mythical reading. It’s a good story and I will read the second in the series to see what happened next in Lizzie’s life. It is not one I would normally have gotten into, but it is a good, easy, short read. I would recommend it if you had a long weekend to dive into the series.
Tracy’s Review:
Unsettled is a cute story and I liked it. For me, I felt it was missing a little something though I’m not sure what that something is. It was kinda like driving on a straight road without venturing off to the side turns till the end of the journey if that makes sense. Lots of sexy and romantic areas and the story in itself was cute. It got very interesting towards the end so I’m hoping the next one has the pull I felt was missing. I’ll keep you informed so I give this book 4 stars for the storyline, romance, and sexy. On to book 2 🙂
