Jared
They say love and hate dance together along the same line.
My feelings for Layla didn’t dance on the line; they destroyed it.
It’s been seven years since she disappeared without a trace.
And now she’s back, but things have changed- I’ve changed.
I’m no longer the Jared she remembers – the boy who wanted to protect her.
I’m very much my father’s son, and I take what I want, and what I want is Layla.
But this time, I’m keeping her forever.
Layla
Seven years, that’s how long it has been since I’ve seen him.
After years of putting myself back together, I’m finally ready to start a life without his memory chasing my every step.
Imagine my surprise when my first step leads me straight back to him.
Only he’s not the boy I remember.
He’s angry.
Damaged.
Hiding secrets that want to destroy him.
He hates me. He wants me.
I’m not sure I will survive the man he has become or his demons that threaten to destroy us both.
Renee’s Five Star Review
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is the second book in the Broken People Duet. You have to read Deceive me first or you are going to be very lost. I think my heart about stopped beating in my chest from the way Deceive Me ended. I know that I couldn’t breathe for a few seconds and then was all why why why about it. Holy cow what a cliffhanger that one was so I was so excited to have Save Me in my hands to see what the heck had happened. Thank goodness Save Me picked right up where Deceive Me had ended. Then we are thrown head first in to twists and turns that will have your head spinning and you sure will not want to lay this book down. Layla and Jared are two people that absolutely love each other and that love is never ever going to go away. Jared has this aggressive nature about him that worries Layla at times but that is what has happened while Layla has been gone and she is about to get the full story of Jared and I hoped we were all ready for it. These two both suffer from some trauma from being raised in foster care and at times there are outside influences that they both have to deal with and I loved their growth together in this book. I do not really feel like I can tell you much about the story at all and not ruin something. I will tell you that this is one of those books that you devour and your right in the moments with Jared and Layla and when you close the book I know that I had a big old smile on my face and felt that all was right in the world. I hope y’all feel that way too when you finish I really loved this duet.
