Book Description:

A submissive once, a submissive forever?

A man on the run from the only life he’s ever known, Brody Vaughn is poised to accept the Black Jack Gentleman’s newly vacant goalkeeper’s position. It’s a desperate move, but one he must take to regain his emotional equilibrium. Reeling from his Mistress’s rejection and on the ragged edge of a total breakdown, he arrives in Detroit. Numb with thinly veiled grief, he walks into the club’s front office completely unaware that an encounter with true destiny awaits him.

Sophie Harrison has seen it all–as Domme, sub, and victim. Now that her complicated circumstances have landed her as legal counsel for the expansion Black Jacks team, she holds herself aloof in body and spirit. Nothing and no one gets past her fiercely guarded walls. Until the day she looks up to greet the new goalie standing in her doorway, his raw combination of vulnerability and strength making her breathless.

Two people, horribly scarred by the excesses of the BDSM lifestyle and hiding from their true selves, meet across a desk over a simple contract. All bets are off.

Stephanie’s Review:

I read a lot of Erotica so I was looking forward to this D/s book style book by Liz Crowe.  I was interested how she was going to spin this  story.  I think it would be hard for a Dom or Domme to hold back their Dominant tendencies.  Sophie Harrison, Lead Legal Counsel for The Black Jack Gentlemen Soccer Team, is a Domme suppressing her tendencies in the bedroom and channeling her need for control to get her further in her career.  She does have an outlet for her sexual Domme tendencies, barely, but she’s does allow herself to Dominate a select few who pay for her services, sans intercourse, for her Domination over them for a minimum of 3 hours.

The Black Jacks hire Robert “Brody” Vaughn to be the lead goalie for the team.  Upon his visit to Sophie’s office the sparks are flying and she’s denying the connection.  He recognizes her Dominance but is not ready for another Domme in his life as the last Mistress he had royally screwed him over.

Ok…so there’s your synopsis.  They eventually give into a “secret” relationship, it grows, then tragedy strikes.  This part of the book makes my heart hurt.  I was so upset for these characters.  I didn’t expect this to happen to them.  It definitely help make the book though.  I thought there could have been a little more build up at the end, but I was very pleased with how the story ended.

4 Stars

I would like to thank Liz Crowe’s publishing company, Tri Destiny Publishing, for allowing me to review these three stories for them.  I received these three ARC’s in exchange for honest reviews.
