Renee’s Five Star Review
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is the second book in Amelia Wilde’s The Collector Trilogy. You have to read Dark Reign before you can dive into Sweet Mercy or you are going to be very lost. This is a dark romance and you will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book because it might hold triggers for some readers.
This book picks up right where Dark Reign left off and Daphne is now a part of Emerson’s collection. I know that makes not sense if you haven’t read Dark Reign but if you have read it then you will know what is going on. I remember closing that book with my jaw on the floor too so I couldn’t wait to have Sweet Mercy in my hands. Daphne now finds herself held hostage and really she is learning the hare way about Emerson’s obsession with her and her art. We all know that this is not in a million years what Daphne wanted or signed up for when she got involved with Emerson. If she had know this was what it was going to be when she asked him for help she would have run in the other direction as fast as she could. But she also knows that Emerson is a super complicated and complex man that has a dark past that has molded him into the man he is now. This is where we get to know the most complicated and I have to say even though he probably sounds like a horrible horrible person to those reading the reviews I can’t say that he is not but he is also really stinking hot!! There is just no way that we are learning everything about him in this book. But it isn’t all bad for Daphne, she has gotten to know Emerson’s brothers and she has protectors in Will and Sin. It is a unique bond and a unique situation for sure but if you have again read the first book you know what your getting in to and like me dove in head first. My review probably makes absolutely no sense. It is so hard at times to review books that you wanna talk someone’s head off about but you can’t and certainly not write it in a review to where it makes total sense and if it doesn’t then I am very sorry. I can just say get this book read it or start at Dark Reign and you will be right in the same boat as me. And I can also have buddies waiting on book three with me too.

Amelia Wilde is a USA TODAY bestselling author of dangerous contemporary romance and loves it a little too much. She lives in Michigan with her husband and daughters. She spends most of her time typing furiously on an iPad and appreciating the natural splendor of her home state from where she likes it best: inside.
Renee Henson has an obsession with reading and reviewing. Especially anything that is a dark romance, fairy tale retelling, MC, and is trying her best to love the PNR worlds. Nothing is quiet as exciting to her as reading a good book and then talking about it or making comments while reading with her friends that have read the book too. She is always happiest with her kindle in her hand and her nose is a book. She has been reviewing for Stephanie's Book Reports for over ten years.
