5 stars for Tainted Kiss by Sharon Kay. This is the first book in the
Watcher’s Kiss series, and it is a great paranormal read.
Arawn is the fierce leader of the Lush demons, and every decision that he
makes is based solely on protecting his race and the realm in which they
live. After loosing his first mate, he vows to never mate again This plan
continues to work for a while up until he meets Ria, one of his
subordinates.
Ria loves being a watcher, and she will fight to the death to protect her
fellow watchers as well as her home. Her amazing fighting ability is
noticed by everyone, but she has a secret that could destroy her role as a
watcher. She has fallen for her leader, Arawn. She knows that she must keep
her attraction hidden.
After Ria is gravely injured in battle, Arawn sits by her bedside daily
until she wakes up. Once she is back on duty, Arawn does his best to hide
his attraction. As he and Ria spend more and more time together, it is
obvious how much they care for one another. Arawn has a deep, dark secret
that he is desperately trying to keep hidden. He knows that if his secret
gets out, Ria will be disgusted by him.
Overall, this was a really good read. The story line progressed at the
perfect place, and the characters were very well developed. If you like
paranormals, you should give this one a try.
