Synopsis:

I’m not sure what I was thinking that day.

It was a normal Thursday, nothing new or exciting had occurred in the morning.

I’d risen from bed, taken a shower and brushed my teeth. I’d then jumped on the 8:05 bus that ran a short distance between my house and the county library where I worked.

The ride took its usual 15 minutes before it left me standing fresh faced in front of a building of gothic construction that was my favorite place in the world.

After straightening my knee length skirt, I pushed open the door that led into the interior of the library.

It was at that moment that my world would change – impossibly and forever. It was a fateful movement of wood that collided with the shoulder of a man that would alter my very existence.

It wasn’t fear that I felt at that moment – more like the feeling of being watched. It was the feeling of knowing that danger lurks – the sensation of the hair standing on end at the back of your neck.

Looking back on a moment that happened so many months ago, I now realize that I should have listened to that feeling.

As I would later find out, the man standing in front of me referred to himself as Master Lucas…

…and I was his next target.

About the Author:

Lily White is a dark writer who likes to dabble on the taboo side of eroticism.  Most of the time she can be found wandering around aimlessly while her mind is stuck in some twisted power play between two characters in her head. You may recognize her in public by the confused expression, random mumbling, and occasional giggle while thinking up a scene. Lily’s favorite things in life are reading, thinking about reading, buying books for reading….and writing. Her other secret pleasure is meeting with her plot editor in public to discuss her books and watching the shocked expressions of the people around her that don’t realize she’s talking about a book.  When Lily is not reading, writing, wandering or freaking out innocent bystanders, she’s sleeping.

Untitled

As usual Lily White has done a phenomenal job at spinning a story into a psychological thriller. Target This will keep you guessing even at the very end. *insert Lily’s evil laugh here*

Lucas Bates sets out to find his perfect muse. Autumn Cleary happens to be his next target. Through a series of events Autumn and Lucas go toe to toe. Who will come out on top? I still can’t tell you. Both “played” their parts gallantly. Both deserve a standing ovation.

It’s the secondary characters you love to hate as well. I wouldn’t be doing any favors not mentioning Sarah, Lucas’ personal assistant, and Adam Marx – police detective.

Interesting stories within the story. I think you’ll find this is a wonderful labyrinth in which you may need a map to truly find the way through. Bring your thinking caps and your friend Sherlock Holmes because you’re sure to need them both as you Target This.

Cassy's Review

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

Lily White has done it again. She has created another story that had me captivated from page one.

Target This had me guessing until the very end. The story could have gone several ways. When I thought that it may go one way, it took off in another direction and then another.

Autumn Cleary (sounds so pure, right?) is the innocent librarian. Lucas Bates (I think of Lucifer and the Bates Motel) is the author of dark romance. He’s looking for his next muse and has targeted Autumn. She despises his type of writing and isn’t afraid to voice her opinion. He is persistent in his chase, which only pushes her farther away until circumstances in her life land her right where Lucas wants her.

Lily White’s writing has a way of drawing you in to her darkness. At times you may want to turn away, but you can’t. A true master of the psychological thriller, she can get inside your head with her written words leaving you to ponder over the story for days.

A truly talented author. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. I’m completely hooked! 5 stars!

Mebane’s Review:

Target This by Lily White is a unique book full of mystery and unique turns that leave you guessing until the very last. Full of sex, murder, and bondage, White has created one of those can’t put down books. At first, I wasn’t sure I was going too be able to finish it, I can only handle BSDM to  certain level but the twists and turns captured me much like those pages written by one of the characters. I’d give it 4.5 stars and I received an ARC for fair review.

Lori’s Review:

5+ stars
Lily white has done it again.

Target This pulls you in right from the start and takes you to a place you
could never imagine.

*WARNING*
This book is not for everyone. It does come with a warning and like all
warnings you should not pass over it.

This book was not dipped in sugary goodness.

But with that said This book was hard to put down. Once I started I had to
finish. The twist and turns that are within this book you never see coming
until they are thrown in your face and leave you guessing as to what is
really going on. It is complete mind twisting. I did enjoy a few parts a
little more then I should have at around 10% in. The ending I for one had
questioned through out the book. And went back and forth until I was certain
I had it figured out only to find out I had been tricked. And that last
little twist I did not see coming at all!!!!!

I can not wait to see what else Lily has for us in the future.
