BLURB:

The only thing darker than the waters of the Louisiana bayou are the secrets it holds. I’d know—I’ve buried more than a few myself.

She was supposed to be one of them.

I was the boy who never had a chance, an orphan recruited by the devil himself, until the family I never knew gave me something to live for.

Then my brother brought her home—the rich politician’s daughter, a real-life fairytale princess who had no place in our world. We were oil and water, and making her leave became my mission, ’til the little tag-along ended up in my passenger’s seat driving cross-country. That’s when we discovered a common thread… something that ran soul deep. Something hard to resist.

But no one I cared about was safe, and when she left, I made her promise never to come back.

Turns out, she lied.

Now the devil who claimed my future wants her, as well, and when I’m faced with a choice, who will come out alive?

The demons who own me?

The family who loves me?

Or the girl I wasn’t supposed to fall for?

Only the bayou knows…

And its secrets die here.

Renee’s Five Star Review  I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports
This is a dark romance. You will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. It will contain triggers for some readers. I am going to go ahead and warn you that when you start this book, you are not going to be able to put it down. If you do have to put it down, you are going to be thinking about it the entire time. It is a book filled with angst and tension that will have you holding your breath. This is the story of Ivy and Silas and these two have the most awkward first meeting in the history of first meetings. It was so bad that it I was embarrassed. I am one of those readers that feels everything when I am reading so it might not do that to you, but it sure did it to me. Silas is a man who is a tortured soul but he loves so fiercely and is super protective of those people. Ivy was really a sweet person so the complete opposite of him, but I loved that she was super fiesty and could give it back as good as she was getting at times. I don’t want to go in to telling you about the story. I think you are better off going in blind and since the blurb does’t really give you the full what your getting in to you just need to experience this amazing book for yourself.
