I will go ahead and tell you that this is a book you will not want to lay down once you pick it up. I was hooked from the very first page. This is the story of King and Rae. King is a man out for revenge and what a better way to do it than to take his enemy’s little sister. It is the perfect revenge. Rae is a girl who loves Shakespeare and can quote it and almost drives him crazy with it. But she is also a girl who will do anything she can to save her brother. So, she agrees to be King’s captive. He will do anything he wants, whenever he wants. She is also a girl who has lived though childhood abuse and at times it affects her in different ways and her life too. King is a alpha male with a very violent lifestyle but at the heart of him he is very sensitive. Yep you read that right. A sensitive alpha male. He has been in the MC life for as long as he can remember. His father left a legacy that he intends to live up to by ruling one day with an iron fist. However like I said he has a heart and feels his emotions but he also desperately wants to gain the respect of his men.
I have to say that I loved this book. It is very different for a lot of MC books you are going to read and that is all because of who King is. He really makes this book and I loved the banter and the connection that he and Rae develop. They challenge each other as much as they help each other overcome their fears and anything that life throws at them really. I thought that King was super humble and there is a part in this book that is just going to be so amazing and trust me you will know when you get there. I loved this book and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a different kind of MC book.
