Justin is a psychologist who’s been brought in to a murder case by the local police department. He’s been tasked with finding any information on the lone survivor of a brutal murder. But while conducting the interviews, it’s apparent that this survivor has been through hell and solving this case may be harder than he thought.
Rainey is the lone survivor. She was found tied to a bed post, bruised and beaten, while four bodies littered the floors of the party house. Although the police have questioned her, she hasn’t answered the questions they really want to know, “what happened in that house”. But she doesn’t have a problem speaking to Justin. In fact, she has a story to tell.
Like any suspenseful/mystery read, this took a little bit to set up. Not in a bad way, you’re just not gonna have an “ah ha” moment right off the bat. There is a LOT of sex, drugs and abuse in this though, so full disclosure if you have triggers.
Was I able to solve the mystery? Yes. But the way it was discovered was a surprise. And even though I had an idea of what was coming, the journey was so worth it. Especially since the “message” was so great, even in its twisted delivery. I’ll be rereading this soon.
