You get a glimpse of The Hating Season in The Lying Season. In this book, English and Court are still working together to clean up his image. Well as much as Court will allow English to clean up that is.
You get a better insight as to what English is going through with her husband and his cheating self. She takes her wedding vows seriously and he just stomped all over them.
Well…that means she’s fair game right? Y’all know you should give yourself time to leave one relationship before you jump into another but in fiction that’s not always the case.
I wouldn’t really call what English and Court have, initially, as a relationship. It’s more like a hater-ship. Not to mention he’s her client. It would be terribly wrong for her to get involved with someone she’s trying to clean up their image. Especially when hers is falling apart!
I struggled a bit with this book. Not sure if it’s just the current world happenings or if it was the characters. Court has a lot to own up to and English has her work cut out for her. There’s a lot of baggage to dig through to get him, and his image, cleaned up.
Give it ago and tell me what you think. If you’re a K.A. Linde fan like me you’ll want to read it just because she wrote it.
