I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is a standalone but is not a dark romance. It is a why choose very angst filled book that had a bit of a mystery going on in it. This story has four main characters. Violet is a girl who is orphaned and no one really wants her but her tormentors. West is her childhood best friend. He lived next door but ended up turning into a bad boy bully. Cody is the star athlete living his best life and will one day take over his families ranch. Blake is the boy who feels like he never has fit in as he was half Korean and living in the mountain town that is mainly one race. But, the night of their graduation everything changes for them when they drug and kidnap Violet and leave her on the side of a mountain with a backpack and a walkie talkie. They turn this into a game where if she wins she can go to college and they will pay for her tuition in full. They win they get her. You have to read to find out what happens but it is a lot more than what I just told you!! Then we time jump and their is a reunion that you will be dying to read about and a twist that I don’t think there is any way in the world that anyone reading this book will ever see it coming!!! I really loved reading this book and I have to admit it was my second time reading this author this year. I really love her writing style and have to say that I would read anything she writes now. I am officially a fan!
