Many people would die to come here… And some have come here and died. There are lies buried within these walls that the world doesn’t know about. But I do. It’s what happens when your family has gone to the same college for generations. Stories and secrets are passed down, making me yearn to know more. I’m determined to discover if each and every one is true, but I’m distracted. Because my new professor has taken a particular interest in me. Or so I think. I shouldn’t be tempted because anything with him is forbidden. But the way that he only has eyes for me has set me on edge. I can’t tell if there is something there or if I’m making it all up in my head. Why would a billionaire, who is known for his solitary life after the death of his wife, want to teach here? There’s so much I don’t know. But I know that lies do nothing but lead to more lies. And when I uncover the truth, the world will implode. The Lies Beneath is the first book in a dark forbidden gothic college romance duet that has enemies-to-lovers themes. This book may not be suitable for all readers due to dubious situations that might be triggering. It ends in a cliffhanger.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the first book in The Westwick University Series. This is a forbidden, dark, college romance duet with enemies to lovers themes. You will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. It might contain triggers for some readers.
I’m going to go ahead and say that I liked this book. I was so excited to read it and it really is a good story but it is very descriptive. Everything is described and they kind of go on my nerves a little bit. Not enough to make me lay it down but enough that I skimmed in a place or two. I don’t know that I would totally describe it as a professor/student book because he isn’t really her professor until the very end of the book. It is about a secret society and there certainly is a stalker. Iris is there to prove that her family is in the secret society. A founder member and Soren is there to make sure that doesn’t happen. He was the head of the group until his wife died. He has taken a step back and his best friend has been running this. However he is interested in Iris. SO much so that she knows all there is to know about her and he knows where she is all the time. He tracks her and knows everything. She however is not letting him sneak in to her room and do things. She will call the police until he threatens her Gram. Now she has a mission a stalker and a Gram that she will protect at all cost. And then Soren becomes her professor.. There are a lot of things that go in this book that I can’t tell you. There are twists and turns and secrets. You just need to read the book and I really hope you enjoy it like I did.
