The Resurrection of Wildflowers
by Micalea Smeltzer is now live!

It took me a while to learn that sometimes no matter how much, or how hard you love someone, or something, you have to let them go. You can’t save a sinking ship.
Sometimes, you have someone else you have to be strong for, who needs you more.
You make a choice.
A devastating one.
And you hope, maybe one day, they’ll come back to you.

Renee’s Three Star Review

I received a copy of this book form the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is the second book in the Wildflower Duet from Micalea Smeltzer. You have to read The Confidence of Wildflowers first. I’m not going to lie, this book was hard for me to read because of the cancer and the main female characters mom!! I don’t read book about cancer and moms but I had not clue and it was two late to stop when I found out and now in this book it is back and I’m just Ugh!! But that’s a personal thing for me and I just prefer to not remember that time in my life when I lost my mom but this one really made me just go there. Salem and Thayer though have a story to tell and it didn’t go exactly how I saw it to be going. After we were left hanging bit time at the end of the first book I really expected this book to blow my socks off. I’m not staying in anyway that it was bad, just that I thought it would be so much more. Salem as you know is pregnant with Thayer’s baby and bam we just five years into the future and we find out that Thayer has not a clue in this world that Salem has his daughter and what you would thing would be a lot of healing and really going through it was a wham bam your forgiven kind of thing and I was all wow, if someone had taken my baby that I didn’t even know was alive and had had five years to tell me and now I am meeting a girl I could have known from the day she was born I would be beyond livid. I sure wouldn’t have been able to just forgive that from someone and I don’t know that I would ever get over it. But they do and then they go nowhere. Basically its your forgiven, my moms has cancer again and bam the end. I don’t know that it should have been a entire novel because there really wasn’t anything much added to the story. She ends up where I knew she would and Thayer really did the only thing he could do to stay in his daughters life. This is a book about the healing that needed to take place and while I wasn’t the biggest fan of it and trust me that shocks me it’s not a bad book you just might close it going hmmmm was it necessary to have an entire second book or would an extended epilogue have been better. I’ll let you decide and I hate that I wasn’t a fan. I’ve read quiet a few books by Micalea Smeltzer book and I love her writing style but this one just didn’t hit home with me.

About Renee Henson

Renee Henson has an obsession with reading and reviewing. Especially anything that is a dark romance, fairy tale retelling, MC, and is trying her best to love the PNR worlds. Nothing is quiet as exciting to her as reading a good book and then talking about it or making comments while reading with her friends that have read the book too. She is always happiest with her kindle in her hand and her nose is a book. She has been reviewing for Stephanie's Book Reports for over ten years.
