This is a standalone novel in the series but you should probably read the others first to understand where most of the characters are coming from. The Temptation focuses on Vance Hale and a friend of his missing ex-girlfriend. Vance is a person of interest in the disappearance of the ex but they were friends and helps the police find a different target to check out. Emily, a friend of Jillian, asks Vance to help her find Jillian … or at least figure out what happened to her. They begin a fake dating relationship which ultimately leads to feelings! Imagine that, right? :-). Twists and turns you expect from a Nikki Sloane book are included in The Temptation. Of course the Hale’s are all present and accounted for in this book as well.
